Margaret Ann Moody, 91, died peacefully at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, May 26, 2011 at her home surrounded by her family.Margaret was born in Elsah Township on April 6, 1920, the daughter of the late Wilbur & Lenora Faye (Jacobson) Seagraves.She and her brother were raised on the family farm, and Margaret has made Elsah her home her entire life.Farm life was a huge part of Margarets life, but she was also employed at Principia College for many years, and was a member of the Elsah United Methodist Church.She married Dwight Lincoln Moody on Nov. 22, 1951 in Elsah, and together they shared 53 years together raising their family of four sons and working as a family on the farm, until his passing on Dec. 21, 2004.Surviving are her four sons & daughters in law, Fred & Diane Moody of Jacksonville, Charles & Rebekah Moody of Grafton, David & Kathy Moody an George & Mishael Moody all of Elsah; 14 Grandchildren & their spouses, Doug & Dr. Stacy Moody of Edwardsville,Michael & Sarah Moody stationed with the U.S. Army in Grafenwohr, Germany, Justin & Lisa Moody of Greenwood, In., Jeremy & Kelly Moody of Dow, Beth Ann, Charles, & Jennifer Moody of Grafton, Joshua Moody of O'Fallon, Il., Kristin Moody of Rock Island, Caleb & Jedidiah Moody of Elsah, and Zachariah, Thomas and Georgeann Moody of Elsah; Six Great Grandchildren; and two on the way.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Nelson Segraves.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Grafton with Rev. William Hendricks officiating.She will be laid to rest alongside her husband at the Elsah Cemetery.Memorials may be given to the BJC Hospice in recognition of the loving care that was given to both Margaret and her husband in their time of need.
