Marcia E. Pruitt, 74, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2024 at her home with her family by her side.
She was born on July 5, 1950 in Alton, IL the daughter of Oliver L and Irma (Cartwright) Sitton. Marcia married Jack R. Pruitt Jr. on June 17, 1996, and he survives.
Marcia was devoted to serving at church. She spent many hours volunteering at Forest Homes Baptist Church, as well as many other area churches. Marcia and Jack then became members of Heartland Baptist Church where she continued to serve. She had worked as an LPN for many years, beginning with Alton Multi-Specialists, then Southern Illinois Healthcare Foundation, and finally the Ursuline Convent. Marcia enjoyed sewing and quilting. Her greatest joys were spending time with her family and grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Jack; Marcia is survived by four children and their spouses, Sarah and Chad Graham of Cottage Hills, Annie Sheridan, Melissa and John Rigoni of St. Charles, and Tim Pruitt of Savannah; three siblings, Myra Long, Roy Kelly Sitton, and Sandra Borque; nine grandchildren, Savannah Graham and her husband, Dillon Lumma, Caleb and Autumn Graham, Derick Henley, Dominic Rigoni, Milo Rigoni, McKenzie Pruitt, Tanner Unterbrink, Sierra Werner, and Megan Scott; four great-grandchildren, Haisley Graham, Kyron Werner, Wilder Lumma, and Weston Lumma; and many other relatives and friends.
Marcia is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Jennifer; and five siblings, Harold Sitton, George Sitton, June Bax, Judy Sitton, and Gary Sitton.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 11, 2024, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at 12 p.m. at Heartland Baptist Church in Alton with Pastor Alex Melton officiating.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey will oversee arrangements.
