Marcella J. Eggemann, 77, passed away at 3:12 pm Wednesday August 17, 2011 at Rosewood Care Center with her family by her side.
She was born November 13, 1933 in Alton, the daughter of Vincent H. & Louise (Klasner) Eggemann.
She was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton where she worked as the business manager from 2001 – 2011. She was the former Vice President of Human and Administrative Resources for Miller’s Mutual Insurance Company where she worked from 1952 until 1996. She graduated from Marquette Catholic High School and Lewis and Clark Community College.
She is survived by a brother-in-law, Joseph Kelly of Alton, two nieces, Victoria and Kimberly Eggemann, two nephews, Mark and Matt Kelly; and five great nieces and nephews, Meghan, Patrick, Michael, Marcella “Molly” and Maggie Kelly.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one sister, Rita Kelly; one brothers, Robert Eggemann; and a nephew, Paul Robert Eggemann.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Friday, August 19, 2011 at Staten-Fine Funeral Home in Alton.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 20, 2011 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton with Fr. Jim Walther OMV celebrant.
Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Alton.
Memorials may be made to the St. Mary's Church in Alton or Marquette Catholic Capital Campaign Fund.
