Mammie Marie Higgins, 92, passed away at 12:28 p.m. Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at her home.
Born Feb. 22, 1917 in Trigg County, Ky., she was the daughter of Ernest and Winnie (Cothron) Thompson.
She married Othel Higgins July 28, 1932 in Metropolis, Ill. He passed away Apr. 12, 1997.
Survivors include four sons and three daughters-in-law, Glen and Carol Higgins of Des Arc, Mo., Howard Higgins, James and Janet Higgins, and Kevin and Roberta Higgins, all of Mayfield, Ky.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Vivian and Virgil Winslow of Moro, Kathy and José Oyarzabal of Wood River; and Shirley and Lee Stringer of Mayfield; 22 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Eul Francis Higgins; and a daughter, Lois H. Johnson.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights, where Kevin Higgins will officiate services at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14.
A committal service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14 at Matheny Cemetery at Land Between the Lakes, Ky.
Memorials may be made to the Meadowbrook Church of God.
