Madeline J. Cain

Madeline J. Cain passed away, at 5:10 pm, on Friday, August 6, 2010, at her residence with her family by her side.

She was born on March 9, 1927 in Flint, MI, the daughter of Otto O. and Vera W. (West) Oxley.

Madeline married Homer Cain on September 8, 1949 in Piggott, AK. He preceded her in death on January 3, 1983.

She was a member of the Bethalto United Methodist. She enjoyed cooking, baking, tending her flowers, crocheting, knitting and sewing. She was an avid baseball fan.

Madeline is survived by two sons, Kenneth "Mike" and his spouse Annette Cain of Archer, FL and Martin Cain of Bethalto; a sister-in-law, Louise McElrath of Port Arthur, TX; a niece, Linda and her spouse Robert Daniels of Bethalto, and a nephew, John Oxley of IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, Warren Oxley and Donald "Buddy" Oxley.

Visitation will be from 11am till time of service at 1 pm on Friday, August 13, 2010 at the Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto, IL with the Rev. John Tennyson officiating.

Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens, in Bethalto.

Memorials may be made to Unity Hospice.
