Louise Schuchman
Jerseyville |

Louise Elaine Schuchman, 80, of Jerseyville, Illinois passed away on June 18, 2025. She was an adored mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Louise was born in St. Louis, Missouri on June 25, 1944, to Benjamin “Pop” and Florence (Price) Schuchman. She had three older sisters: Carol, Nancy, and Dorothy. She graduated from Normandy High School in 1962.
Louise was married twice and had four sons: Paul, Michael, Edward, and Aaron.
Louise’s greatest loves were her sons, music, animals, gardening, and cooking. She had an unusual and incredible sense of humor and wit that was hard to top, and she could light up a room with her infectious giggle and smile. When she heard music, some part of her was always moving or tapping to the beat of the song. She once said, “Music takes you on trips without ever leaving your chair!”
Louise is survived by her sons and their spouses: Paul and Tracy McCabe of Oceanside, CA; Michael and Nikki Bonds of Bethalto, IL; Edward and Erica Bonds of Edwardsville, IL; grandchildren: Jack McCabe, Declan McCabe, Ethan Riedisser, Ayla Bonds, Aiden Bonds, Maddie Alexander, Hunter Bonds; and sisters, Dorothy Leasck of Manchester, MO; Carol Banta of Los Alamitos, CA; many nieces, nephews, and a special family member, Kara Martin.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, her son Aaron Bonds, and sister Nancy.
There will be a Celebration of Life for the family and friends at a later date.
As Louise had a profound love for animals, the family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, any memorial donations be made in her name to the 5As-Alton Area Animal Aid Association in Godfrey, IL.
