Lorraine Finley, age 97, of Glen Carbon, Illinois, passed away on Monday, November 19, 2018, at her residence.
She was born March 26,1921, in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Ellis & Mattie Mae (Powell) Coleman. Lorraine worked as a receiving supervisor for Sears in East St. Louis, & Fairview Heights for over 30 years before retiring.
She first married Sherman Brewer, he preceded her in 1943. She then married James O. Finley and he preceded her on January 19, 1996.
Lorraine is survived by her daughter in law, Pastor Diana M. Brewer of Maryville; four grandchildren, Bishop Jason C. Brewer & wife Deanna, Traci S. Daniels, & husband Eric, Jordan I. Brewer & wife Whitney, Daria Finley; five great grandchildren, Corissa, Jalynne, Christina, Mariah, Olivia; and five great great grandchildren; her children in Love, Blean Brown, Kathy Dortch, Judy Towne, Odell & Patricia Lowe, & Tina Dean. She was a mother and grandmother to many.
She was preceded in death by one son, Sherman Robert Brewer; one daughter, Shirley Washington; one step son, James A. Finley; and a sister, Mamie Lee Green.
Lorraine was a member of Anchored in Truth Ministries in Edwardsville.
A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, December 1, 2018, at Anchored in Truth Ministries, 510 Garfield, Edwardsville, IL 62025.
She was cremated according to her wishes and will be buried at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates at a later date.
