Lorraine Marie Fast, 91 , passed away peacefully in her sleep at 11:25 p.m. on Friday, November 1, 2024 at Evergreen Care Center in Jerseyville, IL.
Born on September 7, 1933, in St. Louis, Missouri, Lorraine was the cherished daughter of Ernest and Mary (Bradley) Isringhausen. She married the love of her life, Clayton "Bud" Fast, on February 8, 1953, and together they shared many wonderful years until his passing on November 18, 1998. Lorraine later met her longtime companion Ray Cummings, and he preceded her in death.
Lorraine was a spirited woman with a zest for life and a heart for family. She loved the simple joys of playing Bingo, sewing, and sharing music through her talent on the piano. Lorraine and Bud delighted in dancing and traveling, creating treasured memories as they explored the world together.
Lorraine is survived by her children, Arthur Fast (Tammy) of Kansas, Cynthia Fast of Jerseyville, IL,and Clayton Fast (Wendy) of Texas; grandchildren, Sherry Fast, Chad Fast, Brandie Thompson (Rich) , Lorelei Hughes (Larry), and Rebekah Savage; great grandchildren, Nicole Ramos (Spencer), Vickey Gilbert (Merlyn), Carolton (CJ) Monroe, Isabella Thompson, and Faith Thompson; and great great grandchildren, Vickey Gilbert III, Nina Daniels, Sophia Daniels, and Noa Ramos.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; sisters,Virginia Hamm and Helen Lawrence, and a great grandson, Alexander Butler and a great-great grandson, Joseph Daniels.
A Gathering of Friends will be held on November 23, 2024 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Elias Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, in honor of Lorraine’s memory and her enduring legacy.
