Lorraine Tucker

Lorraine A. Tucker, 92, passed away on November 10, 2021, at Jerseyville Manor.

She was born on February 3, 1929, to Courtney & Florence (Groppel) Tucker in Alton. She was a lifelong member of Gospel Assembly Church where she was a member of the church band playing saxophone for 40+ years and was still playing in her early 80’s. She also thoroughly enjoyed being able to be a monitor at her church’s school, Memorial Christian Academy, and equally enjoyed being a part of the annual “Peanut Brittle Factory” crew and tirelessly worked with them well into her 80’s.

Lorraine is survived by her cousins and lifelong church family.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, from 11: 00 am – 1:00 pm at Gospel Assembly Church in Jerseyville. A funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at 1:00 pm at Gospel Assembly Church in Jerseyville. Pastor James Beck and Pastor Clyde Shaw will be officiating the service. The burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gospel Assembly Church in Jerseyville.
