Lorene Louise (Winter) Brunworth, 102, passed away on Tuesday January 26th at Cedar Crest Nursing Home in Washington MO. She was born on August 6th 1918 in Worden, IL the daughter of the late Herman and Louise Winter.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Milburn Brunworth, and her 5 brothers: Gilbert, William, Norman, Melvin and Herman Winter.
She is survived by 4 children, David and wife Diane of Washington MO, Dan and wife Brenda of Mahomet IL, Ann and husband David of Smithville, TX, and Greg and wife Gretchen of Littleton, CO; 9 grandchildren, Louis, Joseph, Martin, Benjamin, Jaclyn, John, James, Kaitlyn, and Jamie; and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition, her many nieces, nephews and many dear friends will sadly miss her.
Lorene and her family moved to Edwardsville IL at an early age, and she spent most of her lifetime in Edwardsville, IL. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she often sang as a soloist and served with many of the church organizations. Lorene was a graduate of Edwardsville High School. Lorene and Milburn were married on January 26th, 1946. They spent 52 wonderful years together. Lorene’s passing came on the exact date of their 75th wedding anniversary, a tribute to their steadfast and enduring love for one another.
Lorene loved her church and she loved helping others. So In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church and School or a charity of your choice. A private graveside service will be held at Valley View Cemetery in Edwardsville. Weber & Rodney Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
