Lola M. Green, 96, passed away at 1:45 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Rosewood Care Center in Alton.

  Born Feb. 23, 1915 in Mt. Carmel, Ill., she was a daughter of Blaine and Lillie (Hadley) Price.

  She married Harold D. Green in Wood River on May 30, 1931.  He passed away July 4, 2002 after they shared 71 years of marriage.

  Lola worked as an office clerk for Young’s department store in Alton for 10 years.

  She is survived by a daughter, Christina Epps of Bethalto; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Mary Green of Bethalto and Max and Yvonne Green of Bluffton, S.C.; 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren plus one on the way; and 5 great-great grandchildren.

  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Harold V. Green; 2 brothers; 3 sisters; and a son-in-law, Wayne Epps.

  Visitation will be Saturday, May 7 at the First Christian Church in Bethalto from 10 a.m. until services begin at 11:30 a.m.  Rev. John Blackmore will officiate.

  Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.

  Memorials may be given to the Building Fund at the First Christian Church, Bethalto.
