Lola Grace Smith, 84, passed away at 6:45 pm Friday May 24, 2013 at Blu Fountain Manor Nursing Home in Godfrey.
She was born on October 7, 1928 in Hamilton County, IL the daughter of Charles & Dolly Marie (McGill) Biggerstaff.
Lola married Harry W. Smith Jr. on April 26, 1946 in Alton. They shared 43 wonderful years of marriage together until he passed away on October 6, 1989.
She loved and cared for her grandchildren and family and will be missed by a daughter and son-in-law, Dolly & Jerry Meininger of Alton; four grandchildren and spouses, Tracy Bellitto and her companion, Brent Cleveland of Godfrey, Terry & Chrissy Meininger of Pacific, MO, Jeff & Kristi Meininger of Godfrey and Chelsea Gillian of Alton. She is also survived by three great grandchildren, Megan & Jake Meininger and Jacob Bellitto.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a son, Harry W. Smith III and his loving wife, Donna and her second husband, Don Gillian; and several brother and sisters.
Visitation will be from 11 am until time of funeral services at 1 pm Thursday May 30, 2013 at Elias Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton.
Burial will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery.
Memorials may be to the 5A’s.
