Lois Irma McCoy, 97, died at 5:57 p.m., Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Jerseyville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Otter Creek Township, Jersey County, Il. on Feb. 8, 1914, and was the daughter of the late Elmer & Neva (Bethal) Ridenour.
A resident of Grafton for many years, she relocated after the Flood of 1993. She was a homemaker, and married Hallie Leroy McCoy on Nov. 10, 1932 in Carrollton, and they shared 48 years together before his death in December of 1980.
Surviving are a son and daughter in law, Roland "Boots" and Martha McCoy of Dow; 16 Grandchildren; and numerous great and great great grandchildren; a brother Pete Ridenour of Godfrey; and a sister, Madge Reynolds Murrell of Otterville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant daughter, Dollie; a daughter, Donna Dabbs, a son & daughter in law, Leroy & Glenna Belle McCoy; a son, Dale McCoy; two granddaughters, Debra McCoy and Lori (McCoy) Crowe; two sisters, Lucille Pace and Joyce Moran; and a brother, Wayne Ridenour.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday. Rev. Steve Helfrich will officiate.
Burial will be in the Meadowbranch Cemetery in rural Grafton.
