Lois Gallahue

Lois Gallahue, 95, passed away 11:07 p.m. Thursday, February 13, 2014 at her daughter's residence.

Born in Alton on December 13, 1918, she was the daughter of Frank and Emma (Green) Dotson.

She had been a cook at Indian Hills Couintry Club beside her husband and a volunteer caregiver at hospitals.

On October 29, 1955 in Alton, she married Max Gallahue.  He died January 1, 2000.

Surviving arefour sons, Charles Flowers of Shipman, Joe Flowers of Herod, IL, Jim Grunwaldt of St. Charles, MO, Joe Grunwaldt, Jr. of Wright City, MO; two daughters, Barbara (Ernest) Beckwith of Godfrey, Sharon Thrush of Washington, IL; over 25 grandchildren includig, Cheryl, Stacy, Tracy, Sharla, Debbie, Chuck, Dianne, Dawn, Micheal, Brenda, Ruth, Rick, Todd, Randy, Rodney, Richard, Brian, Darren and Adam; over 31 great grandchildren; over 12 great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy Denby of Godfrey and Ruth Ann Dotson of Alton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Ron Gallahue, Bill Flowers; and two granddaughters, Rose and Pam.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.  Rev. David Bowman will officiate.

Burial will follow in United Methodist Cemetery in Bethalto.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital or Paralyzed Veterans.
