Lloyd Maurice Lawrence

Lloyd Maurice Lawrence, 79, formerly of Bethalto, passed away at 7:29 am on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Four Seasons Nursing Home in Sedalia, MO. 

 

He was born March 17, 1934 in Bethalto, IL, the son of Ben and Ruth (Owens) Lawrence.   

He married Sharon Bourland on September 21, 1985 at the Bethalto Assembly of God Church.  She preceded him in death on October 26, 2004.

Lloyd served his country in the U.S. Army.  He worked for the Department of Natural Resources as a as a site 1 tech in maintenance.  He attended Franor Church of Christ in Alton and after getting married to Sharon, he attended the Bethalto Church of God.  After Sharon’s passing he attended the East Alton Church of Christ.

He is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Shelly and G.W. Francis of Olatha, Kansas and Francine and Gary Thompson of Edgar Springs, MO; two grandchildren, Cassie and Calie Francis of Olatha, Kansas; a brother, Elsworth Lawrence of Sedalia, MO; a sister-in-law of Rolla, MO; his dog, MJ; a step grandchild and three step great grandchildren of Potosi, MO; numerous grandpets and many nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Francis Eileen (Goeway) Lawrence and his second wife, Sharon Lawrence, a son, Lloyd Maurice Lawrence Jr. and a sister, Lena Stanton.   


Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm on April 12, 2013 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.  Funeral services will be at 10 am on April 13, 2013 at the funeral home with Pastor Jerry Parks officiating.

Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto with military rites by Alton VFW Post 1308. 


Memorials may be made to the Bethalto Church of God.
