Lin Renee Townsend, 56, passed away at 5:10 pm Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at her residence.
She was born on June 11, 1954 in St. Charles, MO, the daughter of William and Donna M. (Roarke) Hayes.
She married Melvin L. Townsend on July 1, 1977 in Clayton, MO. He survives.
Lin was a homemaker. She loved to cook, clean house, decorate, fish, read and most of all spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Addam Townsend of Missouri and a daughter, Elizabeth Townsend of East Alton; a grandson, Caleb Townsend of East Alton; four brothers, Doug Hayes of West Alton, Tony Hayes, Michael Hayes and Billy Hayes all of Neelyville, MO and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Joyce Beard and Jo Ann Higgenbotham and two brothers, Tim Hayes and Dale Hayes.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to service time at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Staten Fine Funeral Home in Alton.
Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in West Alton, MO.
Memorials may be made to the Holy Angels Catholic Church or St. Vincent DePaul Society.
