Lily Marie Waltz, 78, of Brighton, IL, died at 7:45 p.m. Wed. June 26, 2013 at St. Anthony’s Health Center in Alton, IL.
She was born Apr. 7, 1935 in Woodburn, IL to the late Thomas Irving & Elsie Mae (Eppler) Cook.
Lily was a homemaker who spent her life helping others. She was active in her church, Alton Seventh Day Adventist Church and had been the church’s Community Service Leader. She loved her pets, flowers and hummingbirds.
On Apr. 12, 1951, she and Billie Waltz were married in Alton. He survives in Brighton.
In addition to her husband of 62 years, she is survived by: 3 children, Deborah (Joe) Conrad of San Antonio, TX, Roger Waltz of Godfrey, IL and Glenda (Daniel) McGee of Bolingbrook, IL, an adopted son, John Dudrey of Austin, TX, 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Myrl, Glenn, Robert & Eldon.
Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Mon. July 1, 2013 at Woodburn Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
