Lillie 'Alice' King, 78, of Jerseyville died early Friday morning March 5, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.
Born on July 18, 1942 in Kemper, IL, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Venia (Reno) Loy. She married Jerry King on Dec. 18, 1974 and he survives.
Also surviving are her children: Gina Robinson of Jerseyville, Brenda (Tom) Horn of Greenfield, Brad King of Eldred, Tracy Allen of Arkansas, grandchildren: Jerry Lee Price, Jr., Stephanie Louise Hurst, Samantha Horn, Cassandra Hazelwood, LeAnn, Zachary, Destiny, great-grandchildren: Eli & Eric Horn, Seth, Jacob, Kaylee & Jason Shaw, and great-great-grandson: Archie, sisters: Anna Mae Roberts, Marilyn Loy and Linda (Joe) Blake all of Greenfield and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Eric King, a granddaughter Diane, and siblings: Karen Armstrong, Frank Loy, John Thurman Loy, Loretta Slightom, Dorothy Loy and Robert Loy.
Alice had worked at Walmart in Jerseyville, Owens-Illinois in Alton, and retired from Alton Mental Health Facility after over 10 years of service. She loved to read, especially her Bible. She loved puzzles, gardening, sewing and was an excellent cook.
Visitation will be from Noon until 2 p.m. on Wednesday March 10, 2021 at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton. Masks will be required. Funeral services will be held immediately following the visitation. Burial will be in Eldred Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Eldred.
