Lester George (Coco) McGee passed away peacefully September 14, 2024, at Calhoun Nursing and Rehab.
He was born on November 4, 1941, to the late Frederick George McGee and Helen Mary Hillen. Lester was the last surviving of seven siblings. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Bertha Johnes, Sister Mary Catherine McGee, and Catherine Rutledge; three brothers, Wilbert Fritz McGee, Bernard (Mac) McGee, and Jerome McGee. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Lester worked on the family farm before going into the service for two years, after returning home he went to work as a laborer for Laborer’s International Union of North America for 50 years before retiring.
He loved spending time with family and friends, hunting and gardening was his passion. Lester was someone who would be there to help anyone anytime they needed it.
Lester donated to many Catholic Churches, Masons, Shriners Hospital for Children and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Per his wishes cremation rites were accorded.
Funeral Mass will be Friday, October 4, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Barbara’s Catholic Church in Batchtown.
Burial will follow at St. Barbara’s Cemetery in Batchtown.
