LeRoy Glueck

O Fallon |

LeRoy W. “Lee” Glueck, 86, of O’Fallon, IL, born February 8, 1938, in Swansea, IL, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 5, 2025, at his residence.

LeRoy could fix anything and was often asked to help others with construction projects, or fix cars, and lawnmowers. He worked at Lehr’s Mower Repair, Coca-Cola, and Illinois Power as a Local 101 Plumbers and Pipefitters union member. He was proud to be promoted to supervisor in Galesburg, IL, in 1989, and retired from that position in Freeburg, IL, in 1995.

He was a lifetime member of the Gear Jammers Car Club for more than 70 years, and a member of the Lakers Car Club for more than 20 years. He loved his 1936 Chevy hot rod that he drove to countless car shows or just a Sunday drive with his wife, Sandy.

He loved fishing, camping, boating, and meeting his buddies at McDonald’s for coffee. He will be missed by many, none more than his family.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol Jean, nee Russell, Glueck, whom he married on June 19, 1957; a son, David; a stillborn son, Harold LeRoy Glueck; his parents, Leroy and Myrtle, nee Wilson, Glueck; a granddaughter, Lauren; a brother, Rodger Glueck; and a sister-in-law, Sandra Kraus.

LeRoy’s family was the most important thing to him. He married his second love, Sandra, nee Murphy, Glueck on April 12, 1986. Their union added Kimberlee A. Modrusic to his children.

Surviving are his wife, Sandra, three children, James R. (Patty) Glueck, Kristi (Keith) Reece, and Kimberlee A. (Nick) Modrusic; a daughter-in-law, Denise Glueck; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, Holly (Reece) (Ron) Brothers, and her son, Austin; Lauren (Reece) (Jon) Switzer, and their son, JJ; Audrey (Glueck) (Jacob) Knigge, and their children, Cheyenne, Raylan, and Adalyn; Brian Reece, Amy (Glueck) (Andy) Ladendecker, and their daughter, Olivia; Alexandra (Glueck) (Craig) Conner, and their children, Easton, and Ivy; and Gaven Modrusic; a sister-in-law, Judy Sager; his brother-in-law, David Kraus; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the charity of the donor’s choice. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.
