Lela Thomasson

JERSEYVILLE-  Lela Mae (Woolsey) Thomasson, 83, died at 4:38 p.m., Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Jerseyville Manor Nursing Home.She was born in Kane on May 22, 1929, and was one of three children born to Pearl & Ada (Crow) Woolsey.Lela Mae graduated from Kane High School, and was a baker in dining service at Principia College in Elsah for 18 years retiring in Dec. 1993.She first married Morris "Gene" King, and together they had two sons, Ronald & Larry.  She then married Donald Thomasson on Feb. 5, 1994, and together they resided in Kane, and attended the Kane United Methodist Church, and shared nearly 10 years together before his death in 2003.Surviving are a son & daughter in law, Larry & Linda King of Jerseyville; a daughter in law, Lavonne King of Carrollton; six grandchildren & their spouses, Shawn King of Jerseyville, Jayson & Jenny King, Jamie Anderson all of Jerseyville, Micah & Mandy King of Gillespie, Aaron King of Carrollton, and Vonna & Kerry Green of Australia; 11 Great Grandchildren; and twin great great granddaughters expected to be arriving soon.In addition, she is survived by Donald's children, Donna Winters of Carrollton, Marilyn Woolsey and Connie Cooper of Kane, and Donna Ritchey of Medora and their families.She was preceded in death by her father, Pearl Woolsey, her mother & stepfather, whom she was very close, Ada & Louis Mattis; her son, Ronald King, who died July 11, 2004; a grandson, Kipling King, who died in 1994; a brother, Harold Melvin Woolsey, and an infant sister, Ella Marie Woolsey.Visitation will be from  5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday.Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.Memorials may be given to the Kane Baptist Church where she has been a longtime member
