Lela Fay Roady, 63, passed away at 11:20 a.m. Friday, October 8, 2010 at her residence in Alton.
She was born October 26, 1946 in Sebastopol, CA, the daughter of Vernon and Lela Mae (Harrington) Shaw.
She married Howard “Bud” Roady on May 9, 1987 and he survives.
Lela worked as a school bus driver for over 26 years currently for the Illinois Central Bus Company.
She is survived by her husband, one son Richard and spouse Sheila Castillo of East Alton, one daughter Deanna and spouse Paul Lorts II, of Dayton, TX, one brother Dennis and spouse Sandy Shaw of Rosewood Heights, four sisters Shirley Eaker of East Alton, Grace and spouse Henry Vandygriff of Brighton, Carol and spouse Steve VanMeter of Wood River, Linda Maness of Holcomb, MO, seven grandchildren William and Jesse Castillo, Ira and Amanda Danner, Paul III, Tosha, Brittany Lorts, and four great grandchildren Emily, Maveric, Danta and Kayden.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson Dusty Blake Castillo and one sister Sandy Shaw Newby.
Visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm Tuesday October 12, 2010 at Elias Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton and funeral services will be conducted Wednesday October 13, 2010 at 10 a.m. at the Elias Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton with the Rev, Carl Cook officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
