Leeta Huff Ward, 60 passed away on Friday, June 24 at Saint Anthony’s Hospital. Leeta was born December 27, 1955 in Alton, Illinois at St. Joseph’s Hospital to the union of Franklin Edward Huff and Susan Regina Huff- Shaw. She attended and graduated from Alton High School, went to University of Wisconsin – Superior, SIUE, and Lewis & Clark Community College and earning her Nursing Degree. She was a nurse for 40 years on local, state, and government levels, providing quality and professional care. Leeta was an involved member of the American Nurse Association organization.  The former Ms. Huff was united in Holy Wedlock on April 14, 1997 to Mr. James Otis Ward. Left to cherish wonderful memories: her husband, James Otis Ward; 4 beautiful children, James O. Ward Jr., Jamar D. Ward, Tianna Marie Collins, Chatka Melina Collins; her loving mother, Susan R. Shaw; her father, Franklin E. Huff; her siblings, Rose Huff Small, James E. Huff, Mildred J. Huff, Steven E. Huff, Regina C. Huff, Juanita L. Shaw; Grandchildren, Delarro T. Smith, Jalen S. Smith, Jada Y. Caffey, D’ Juan r. Oldham, Julian X. Caffey, and James S. Ward; Great Grandchildren- and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will convene Saturday, July 2, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 10:00 a.m. at Deliverance Temple Complex C.O.G.I.C. Interment will follow up at Upper Alton Cemetery.
