Lee Roy Webster, 77, died peacefully at 8:02 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at ElderCare in Alton.A native of Jersey County, he was born on the family farm in the rural Fieldon area on May 25, 1933, the youngest of four children born to the late Edward & Rosa Marie (Fryman) Webster.He has been employed as a truck driver for the vast majority of his adult life, beginning his employment with Alton Box Board, then to Ruan Transport in Wood River until the terminal was closed.  He then went to work for Jefferson Smurfit in Alton until his retirment.During retirement he was able to spend more time fishing, pick up the game of golf, and enjoyed good conversation & laughter whenever he could and look forward to his morning stop at Mister Donut in Alton with his buddies.Surviving are his wife,  Esthermae (Sauls) Webster of Alton; two sons, Morris & June Webster of Jerseyville, and Ed & Lenora Webster of Godfrey; four grandchildren, David Webster of Godfrey, Julie & Derek Arndt of Mattoon, Brian & Amanda Webster of Alton, and Veronica Coyte-Webster of Jerseyville; five great grandchildren, Sarah, Hayle, Wyatt, Logan & Katilyn; a sister,  Virginia Leonard of St. Ann., Mo.; and a brother, Charles Webster of Jerseyville.He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Debra Renee' Webster on March 9, 1957; and a sister, Betty Baker.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday.  The Rev. Carl Hayes will officiate.Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.Memorials may be given to the St. Anthony's Hospice in care of the funeral home.
