Lawrence “Larry” Meyer, 50, died Saturday, August 13, 2011. Born August 27, 1960 in Alton, he was the son of Ollie F. and Bernadette F. (Hauck) Meyer.
He had worked as a tree trimmer for various companies over the years. Surviving are two sisters and brothers-in-law, Chris and Larry Hall of Godfrey, and Darla and Richard Haworth of Godfrey, his companion of 18 years, Barb Flowers of Alton and her children, Randy and Breanna both of Alton, and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He will especially be missed by his life long friends, Alfred Valdez and Kelly Johnson as well as his many close friends and extended family members and his dogs, Rocky and Rambo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Linda Meyer and his brother, David Meyer.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Milton Cemetery followed by a celebration of his life from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the Alton-Wood River Sportsman’s Club Trap House. Memorials may be made to the family. Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
