Laura Lee Wright died at 7:57 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at her residence.
She was born March 22, 1951 in Alton, IL the daughter of the late William and Irma (Tedrick) Maupin. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton. In November of 1976 she married George Wesley Wright Jr., and he preceded her in death on February 19, 2013.
Surviving are four daughters and one son, Marcy Wright of Godfrey, Jennifer Wright of Alton, Melissa Duncan (Jeff) of Florida, Charlotte Irons (Van Tanner) of Florida and Tony Wright of Florida, two sisters in laws, Janis Maupin of Otterville, IL and Jill Kirkonis of TX.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Maupin, Dennis Kirkonis and one sister, Marilyn Hart.
A memorial mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 10, 2025 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton. Father Christopher Uhl, OMV will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Ronald McDonald House.
