Laura Jo Wray, 31, passed away unexpectedly at 8:48 pm on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
She was born on January 31, 1983 in Alton, IL, the daughter of Terry J. Wray and Karla R. (Sparrowk) Lindsey.
Laura was a CNA at several nursing homes in the area. She was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed camping with her friends, being outdoors, loved animals and taking care of her nieces and nephew.
She is survived by her mother, Karla Lindsey of Bethalto and her father, Terry of South Roxana; a brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Kathryn Lindsey of Bethalto; her nieces and a nephew, Addison, Scott and Emma Lindsey all of the Bethalto; her maternal grandparents, Don and Reita Sparrowk of Bethalto; an uncle, Keith Sparrowk of Bethalto; a cousin, Rachel Sparrowk of Bethalto and several half sisters and one half brother and their children.
She was preceded in death by her maternal great grandparents, Joe and Maxine Higgins, who were very special to her.
A memorial service will be at 6:30 pm on Friday, April 4, 2014 at the Alton Memorial Hospital Chapel with Chaplain Bruce Baumberger officiating.
Memorials may be given to the Madison County Humane Society.
