Laura Jean Fields, 81, of Rogersville, MO, died on February 7, 2015. Jean was born on May 25, 1933 in Alton, IL, the daughter of Henry R. Balster and his wife Laura J., nee Aljets.
She is survived by two daughters, Sally Arteaga of Rogersville, Mo, Sara Denning (Michael), Chesapeak, Va, two brothers, Dr. Vernon H. Balster (Francis) St. Louis. MO, Rev Donald W. Balster, (Marian) Willowbrook. IL, sister Carolyn Oakley (Howard), Troy, IL, three grandchildren, Katherine Arteaga, Rogersville, MO, John and Lori Denning, Chesapeake, Va. She was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church, Alton, IL, and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, Bethalto, IL.
She attended Moro elementary school and Edwardsville high school in Illinois, and Valparaiso University, Valparaiso, Ind. She was preceded in death by her Ex-husband Lt. Colonel Harry N. Fields. She was a homemaker and worked in the library at Cottey College, Nevada. MO. She lived in various parts of the United States and overseas as the wife of a United States Air Force husband.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 27th, 11:00 am at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Bethalto, IL, the Rev Donald W. Balster officiating.
