Laura Ann Bridgeman, 68, died at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2011 at her home. Born July 25, 1943 in Alton, she was the daughter of Harold and Louise (Baur) Meisenheimer. She married Ben Bridgeman in 1970 in Alton. He survives. Also surviving are four sons, Ben Bridgeman of Champaign, IL, Fred Smith of East Alton, Pat Bridgeman of San Antonio, TX, Matt Bridgeman of Alton, one daughter, Dorothy Rye of Charlotte, TN, 13 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one brother, Bud Meisenheimer of Alton, and three sisters, Violet Sacket of Alton, Marilyn King of Godfrey and Alice Clayton of Alton. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Tom Smith, and a brother, John Michael Meisenheimer. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 6, 2011 at College Avenue Presbyterian Church in Alton. Burial will be private. Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
