Larry Don Wickham, 79, of Edwardsville, IL, died at 8:55 p.m. Sun. Mar. 16, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family while under hospice care.
He was born Apr. 12, 1945 in Granite City, IL to the late Kermit P. and Mildred Lee (McDowell) Wickham.
On Oct. 29, 1965, he and Sharon A. Williams were married in Portsmouth, VA. She survives.
Larry was a proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran, serving from 1962 to 1966. After the military, he worked as a driver for U.S. Steel, retiring in 2007 after 33 years of service. He loved to work and tinker.
In addition to his wife of 59 years, he is survived by a daughter: Tammi (Bradley) Clark of Edwardsville; 4 grandchildren: Allison (Cody) Ojeda, Bailey Rideout and Dylan and Danielle Clark; a great-grandchild: Landon Ojeda; a brother: Dennis (Joyce) Wickham of Granite City; a sister: Betty Geerts of IA; and many niece and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Carroll Wickham and Michael “Mike” Wickham; a sister: Shirley Zeigler; and a brother-in-law: Cliff Geerts.
Memorial visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thurs. Mar. 27, 2025 at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will be private with military honors at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital.
