Larry Johnstone

Larry G. Johnstone, age 75 of Mulberry Grove, Illinois, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2025, at Greenville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Greenville.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2025, at the Donnell–Wiegand Funeral Home in Mulberry Grove, Illinois with Glen Kreider officiating. Interment will follow in Noffsinger Cemetery.

Larry Gene, the son of Albert S. Johnstone and Violet (Hoffmann) Johnston, was born August 7, 1949, in St. Louis, Missouri. Larry grew up on the family farm and helped his dad around the farm with various jobs.

He was the oldest of 4, survived by his brother Richard Johnstone of Mulberry Grove, sisters Catherine Johnstone (Milton Smith) of Mulberry Grove, and Betty (Doug) Lawrence of Keyesport. Also survived by nieces Amy Johnstone (Dave Dunn), Ashley Smith (Derrick Koerkenmeier), Nephew Travis Lawrence, and great nieces Jordon Flood and Holly Dunn, and lots of cousins.

Larry loved spending time with his family and traveled often with his parents. One of his greatest loves was fishing and spent a lot of time at the pond. He also enjoyed playing cards, doing crossword puzzles, collecting antiques, and hunting for mushrooms.
