It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Lana Sue (Seets) Dale of Brighton, who passed away on Sunday, July 21 2024 at the age of 74. She was born December 1, 1949, at home in Brighton, IL, the daughter of the late Alice (Watson) and late Jake Seets Sr.
She married Charles Dale on March 2, 1966, in East Alton, IL and together they shared over 53 years of marriage before his death on May 29, 2019.
Lana loved visiting with friends and family, playing cards, watching cooking and game shows, golf, and her favorite baseball team the St. Louis Cardinals. She loved camping with her siblings and other family members. She was known for throwing the best July 4th and Christmas Eve parties that brought all the family together. In her early years, Lana could be found on the softball field or in the gym playing volleyball. She was quite the softball player and played till her early 50s with a great group of gals at Gordon Moore Park.
Lana was right by her husband's side while he served 27 years in the military. During that time she worked on base doing bookkeeping and enjoyed moving around to different bases with her family in tote. She was always up for an adventure and it didn't take her long to make new friends. After Charles's retirement, they moved back home to Brighton and Lana went on to help run Dale Plumbing Heating and Cooling as well as work for Barton Contracting and later would work for Kearbey Trucking.
