Kim A. Grable, 55, passed away at 12:00 Noon on Monday, June 17, 2013 at his home with his family by his side, while under the care of Heartland Hospice.
He was born on August 16, 1957 in Alton, IL, the son of Leo L. and Jewell R. (Grindstaff) Grable.
He married Marilyn E. Stewart on August 9, 1993 in Rosewood Heights, IL. She survives.
Kim was totally an avid St. Louis Cardinal’s fan. He was a LTO Operator for Genco ATC for ten years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bethalto. He was avid fisherman and enjoyed gardening. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, friends, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Cassandra D. Payne of Meadowbrook; two grandchildren, Parker Lee Calvin and Courtney Lee Picklesimer; his siblings and their spouses, Joyce and Danny Wilson of East Alton, Dean and Esta Grable of Rosewood Heights and Sharon and Jim Roe of East Alton and his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Russell Grable and his best friend, Greg Gaither.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday June 20, 2013 at the funeral home with Pastor Chip Faulkner officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
