Kevin Shawn Snyders, 45, formerly of Alton, died unexpectedly at 10:46 a.m. at his residence.

He was born in Alton on Dec. 17, 1966, and was the son of the late Gerald E. & Lorain N. (Branham) Snyders.

He graduated from Alton Senior High School, and was employed as a truck driver for many years, and was currently employed as a driver with the United States Postal Service in St. Louis, Mo.

He enjoyed anything mechanical, and was Nascar fan, and enjoyed times with family and friends camping and fishing.

He married the former Alice Jeanette Whitlock on April 20, 2000 at the home of Rev. Joy Settles in Carrollton, and they have shared the past 11 years together.

Surviving are his wife, Jeanette Snyders of Newbern; two sons,  Jessy L. Snyders, and his companion, Tess Price of Alton, and Jary A. Snyders of Grafton; four stepchildren, Brandi Melton, and her husband, Shawn of Carrollton, Jack Bockholdt, and his fiance', Heather Hickey of Eldred, Danielle Day, and her fiance' Nick DeSherlia of Batchtown, and Dalton Whitlock of Carrollton; nine grandchildren; a sister & brother in law, Brenda & Kenny Johnson of Kampsville; three brothers & sisters in law, David & Barbara Snyders of Alton, Eugene A. Snyders of Grafton, and Gerald "Sonny" & Carole Snyders of Godfrey; his mother in law, Jackie Whitlock of Newbern; a sister in law & brother in law, Annette & Danny Bohannon of Dow; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, and his father in law, Jack Whitlock.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday.  Rev. Wilbur Cain will officiate.

Burial will be in the Hardin Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to his family in care of Crawford Funeral Home.
