Kent Allan Janssen, 39, passed away at 9:12 pm on Thursday, August 26, 2010 at his home while under the care of BJC Hospice.
He was born on August 28, 1970 in Springfield, IL, the son of Larry C. & Delores A. (Clevenger) Janssen.
Kent attended Lincolnwood High School. He then served his country in the U.S. Army from 1989 to 1992. He was a self employed contractor. He attended Enjoy Church in Alton, he enjoyed going to the Wood River VFW, helping others and most of all he loved spending time with his daughters.
In addition to his mother and stepfather, Delores & Richard Taylor of Springfield, IL; his father, Larry C. Janssen of Mattoon, IL, he is survived by two daughters, Kelsey R. Janssen of Raymond, IL and Kara C. Janssen of Bethalto; a sister and brother-in-law, Angie & Pat Armour of Raymond, IL; a brother, Shane Janssen of Mattoon, IL and five nieces and three nephews. A special thanks to those who stuck by his side throughout this past year, Cynthia Rogers, Eddie Myers, Jesse Johnson and John Adams.
A memorial visitation will be from 5 until service time at 6 pm on Monday, August 30, 2010 at Enjoy Church, 3303 Homer Adams Pkwy in Alton with Pastor David Weimer officiating.
Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.
