Kenneth 'Jigger' Austin, 85, of Taylor Springs, IL, formerly of Sorento, IL passed away at 9:23 p.m. Wed. Feb. 3, 2021, at Hillsboro Area Hospital in Hillsboro, IL.
He was born Nov. 14, 1935, in Indian Mound, TN to the late John Wesley and Mary Jane (Luffman) Austin.
Kenneth had been a barrel maker for Nesco for over 30 years and was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Sorento, IL. He loved to fish, work on cars and work in his garden.
He is survived by his longtime life and soul mate: Judy Griffin; and her son: Bobby of Taylor Springs; brothers: Marvin Austin of Indian Mound, TN, Larry (Kay) Austin of Clarksville, TN, Gary 'Bill' (Marissa) Austin of Woodlawn, TN, Roger Austin of Belgrade, NE and James Austin of Donnellson, IL; and sisters: Lois Lupardus of Granite City, IL, Elsie Toler of Woodlawn, TN, Violet 'Polly' Wells and Shirley Smart, both of Clarksville, TN.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter: Tammy Lynn Austin; sisters: Lillian 'Francis' Williams and Jewell Barnhart; and brothers: Joseph Allen Austin and Lester Austin.
