Kenneth Kinder

Kenneth A. Kinder, 89, passed away at 7:00 pm Monday, June 20, 2016 at his residence. He was born on April 2, 1927 in Golden Eagle, IL, the son of Albert and Elizabeth “Lizzie” (Baalman) Kinder.He married Audrey Miller on August 14, 1951 in Kampsville, IL.  She preceded him in death on October 11, 1997. Kenneth served his country in the Merchant Marines and the U.S. Army. He was a laborer for Local 218 out of Alton for 42 years.  He served as Secretary Treasurer for the local.  He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto.He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Garry & Gaylene (Gillson) Kinder of Godfrey; three grandchildren and their spouses, Kyle & Kathryn Kinder, Erica & Kris Petree and Lindsay & Chris Loftus; six great grandchildren, Jackson, Gracyn, Boyd, Blythe, Christopher and Tanin; his siblings, Geraldine “Geri” Miller of Bethalto and Norma Kendall of Bethalto; a half sister, Helen Kinder Land of Baltimore, MD and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Harold (Buss) Kinder.Private graveside services will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto with Father Tom Liebler officiating and military rites being preformed by the Alton VFW Post 1308. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association.Online condolences and guestbook may be found at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com
