Kenneth A. Corzine

Marine Lance Corporal, Kenneth A. Corzine, 23, passed away at 12:04 pm Friday, December 24, 2010 in Bethesda Naval Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland after being wounded an action in Afghanistan.



He was born on May 4, 1987 in Wood River, IL, the son of Kenneth & Carla (Davis) Corzine. 



Kenny attended Civic Memorial High School and lived in the Bethalto area all of his life.  He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp as a Lance Corporal with the 3rd Battalion, 5th Regiment.  He enjoyed scuba diving and had been involved in the Junior Olympics in taekwondo.



He is survived by his father, Kenneth of Bethalto and his mother, Carla of Moro; his grandparents, Sharon Collins of Bethalto and Bob & Betty Davis of Staunton; a daughter, Macy of Wood River; a brother, Lance Corporal Nicholas Corzine of Camp Pendleton, CA; an uncle and aunt, James “Allen” and Diane Corzine of Roxana and his cousins, Joseph Corzine of Wood River, Private Blake Corzine of the U.S. Army, Fort Benning, GA, Brian Corzine of Roxana and LCPL Michael Benton, USMC. 

 

He was preceded in death by an uncle, Bobby Davis.



Visitation will be from 3 to 8 pm on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at Cornerstone Assembly of God Church in Bethalto.  Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at the church with Rev. Dennis Groomer officiating.


Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto with full military honors.



Memorials may be made to the Kenneth Corzine Memorial Fund through US Bank for other wounded warrior families.
