Keith D. Peterson, 47, went to be with the Lord at 12:45 pm on Sunday, November 21, 2010 at his home.
He was born on May 11, 1963 in Granite City, IL, the son of Larry and Sharon (Andrews) Peterson.
He married Jennifer L. Powell on May 20, 1989 at Abundant Life Christian Center in Alton. She survives.
Keith was a filter press operator at Sensient Technology in St. Louis, Missouri, until his retirement in 2002. He attended River of Life Family Church in Alton and had previously attended Hearts Harvest Church in Bethalto. He enjoyed fishing, watching Nascar, collecting electronics, but most of all he loved being with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife and his son, Mykal of Bethalto, he is survived by his parents, Larry and Sharon Peterson of Godfrey; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carroal and Sharon Powell of Bethalto; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Justina and Greg Tennikait of Bethalto; a sister and brother-in-law, Kim and Jeff French of Edwardsville; a brother and sister-in-law, Kevin and Michelle Peterson of Red Oak, TX; his nieces and nephews, Devin Peterson of Red Oak, TX, Drew and Cassie Peterson of Waxahachie, TX, Nathan French and Julia French of Edwardsville; a great nephew, Elijah Peterson and several close friends.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Wednesday, November 24, 2010, at the funeral home with Pastor Terry McKinzie officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
