Keith Alan Campbell, 61, passed away at 7:52 am Monday November 23, 2009 in the emergency room at St. Anthony's Health Center in Alton.

He was born on November 3, 1948 in Granite City, IL the son of Alfred & Pauline (Bogard) Campbell.

He graduated from SIUE with a B.S. in Business Administration in 1980 and was awarded many more certificates and citations for job performance during his 30 years as a Purchasing Agent for defense contract companies.

He did two tours of duty in Vietnam with the U.S. Army, one tour as Aviation Crew chief and was awarded the Air Medal and flew in over 300 Radio Reconnaissance missions.

He loved collecting sports memorabilia, watching his children participate in various sporting activities, and succeed in their academic pursuits, watched many other sports and played on a softball team with his brother, Dennis for several years. He enjoyed fishing, reading, and following political trends and elected officials service or disservice to the people who elected them to office.

He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Brian & Monica Campbell of Alton; three daughters and a son-in-law, Amy Campbell of Alton, Nichole Campbell of Connecticut, and Sarah & Nick Cannedy of Bunker Hill; three grandchildren, Alex & Jacob Campbell and Dylan Draper; one brother, Dennis Campbell.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Scott; and one sister, Sharon.

Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.

Memorials may be made to a Charity of One's choice or any Veteran's Organization.
