Kay K. Dresler, age 75 of Sugar Grove, formerly of Alton, died at 7:50 AM on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at her residence. She was born in Kansas City, MO on April 27, 1938 to the late Essie (Hardesty) Goynes of San Diego, CA. Kay retired as both an International Representative of IBEW and a Communications Consultant at Illinois Bell Telephone. She spent the majority of her career as President of the TCEU Local in Illinois and later IBEW Local 383. She enjoyed gardening and arts and crafts.

On August 5, 1961 she married John A. Dresler and he preceded her in death on October 14, 1973. In later years, Robert Pritchard was the special person in her life. Surviving are one daughter, Kimberlee Scroggs (Craig) of Naperville; one son, Brian Dresler of Berwyn; two grandchildren, Jacklyn and Ian Scroggs; her step-father, Fred A. Goynes, one brother, Raymond; and one sister, and Linda (Goynes) Greene. Besides her mother and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 1, 2013 at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to The American Cancer Society. Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements. Online guestbook and additional information may be found at
