Kathleen “Katie” Cecilia Williams (nee Stalcup), Fortified with the Sacrament of Holy Mother Church on Monday, March 17, 2014 with her family by her side. Born April 16, 1932 in Carlinville, she was the daughter of Rodney K. and Catherine C. (Matthews) Stalcup. She was the beloved wife of Harry E. Williams for 60 years. They were married on December 31, 1953 in Brighton. Loving mother of Sean (Barbara), Matthew (Cathy), Robert, Brian, Mary Ann, Christopher (Michelle), Peter (Becky), Harry (Katie), and Patrick Williams. Cherished grandmother of Christina, Nickolas, Pamela, Sarah, Virginia, Megan, Courtney, Brandon, Emily, Kathryn, Owen, Abigail, Sean, Rory, Brian, Cecilia, and Parker Jane. Great grandmother of William, Gabrielle, Olivia, Ellie and William “Liam”. Mrs. Williams graduated from Marquette Catholic High School in 1950. She was a life-long member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Alton where she was a member of the Altar Society and active with the choir. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Larry, James, Richard, and Jack Stalcup, and one sister, Faye Collins. Our dear aunt and friend who will be greatly missed. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2014 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Alton. Monsignor Kenneth Steffen will officiate. Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Godfrey. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to SS Peter & Paul Altar Society or to SS Peter & Paul Catholic Grade School.
