Kathleen F. “Pete” Dwiggins

Kathleen F. “Pete” Dwiggins, 87, passed away at 3:30 pm Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at her home under the care of SSM Hospice. 

 

She was born on July 22, 1924 in Melvin, Iowa, the daughter of Elmer and Goldie (Guertin) Foley. 

She married Lawrence “Dop” Charles Dwiggins on July 2, 1946 in Sibley, Iowa.  He passed away on August 10, 1974. 

She was the postmaster in West Alton, Missouri for 37 years until her retirement.  She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in West Alton. 

She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Brennan of O’Fallon, two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Bebe Dwiggins of Baycliff, TX and Steven and Tischa Dwiggins of West Alton, MO; MO; six grandchildren and spouses, Casey and Leighanna Dwiggins of Hillsboro, MO, Gary Dwiggins, Christopher Dwiggins  and Jacob Dwiggins all of West Alton, MO, Theresa Brennan and Rebecca and Chris Dial, both of O’Fallon, MO; four great grandchildren, Dylan and Damon Dwiggins and Riley & Delaney Dial, her siblings and their spouses, Lorraine and Lloyd Dresser of Ames, Iowa, Roger and Neomia Foley of Sutherland, Iowa, Donald Foley of Hollywood, California and Robert and Judy Foley of Colorado Spring, CO; a sister-in-law, Marie Foley of Chula Vista, California, two brothers-in-law,  Earl Klosterman of Ashton, Iowa and Dale Windes of West Alton, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Lawrence Dwiggins, two sisters, Beverly Klosterman and Patricia Windes, and a brother, Burdette Foley. 

In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 3 to 8 pm Thursday May 24, 2012 at Staten-Fine Funeral Home in Alton where a Rosary Service will be held at 6:30.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Friday May 25, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in West Alton, MO with Father Robert Banken as celebrant.

Burial will follow at St. Charles Memorial Gardens in St. Charles, MO.

Memorials may be made to Masses.
