Katherine L. Miles, 85, passed away at 7:48 am Sunday, July 10, 2011 at her residence with her family by her side.
She was born in Alton September 25, 1925 the daughter of the late Arthur and Laura (Buckshot) Lamparter.
She married John Miles on March 23, 1945 and he preceded her in death.
Katherine was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing bingo at the South Roxana Dad’s Club.
She is survived by four children, Cynthia Kay Kraushaar of Wood River, John and spouse Mary Miles, Jr. of Alton, Paulette and spouse James Gruebner of Alton and Carla Jean Miles of Alton; one sister, whom she love and cherished Mildred Stark of South Roxana; three sisters-in-law, Lillian Lamparter, Leona Miles both of Alton and Velma Miles of FL and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews who loved her.
In addition to her parents, husband and one son Terry Lee Miles she was preceded in death by eleven siblings.
Per her wishes cremation rites will be accorded. The family will have a gathering at her home at a later date.
