Junita F. Guffey, age 88, passed away at 2:50 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2013 at Rosewood Care Center in Alton, IL.
She was born on October 24, 1924, in Hillsboro, IL to the late Dennis and Lena May (Hart) Kozatos.
She married Franklin D. Guffey on May 10, 1958 in East Alton, IL, he survives.
Junita worked for Illinois Bell Telephone as an operator. She was also an avid reader.
She is survived by her husband and one sister Mary VanTrease of Alton, IL
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Helen Kozatos, two half sister’s, Dorothy Gonzalos, Nellie Bass and one brother James Kozatos.
Visitation will be from 10 am until the time of service at 11 am Tuesday March 26, 2013 at the Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton, IL with Pastor Douglas Moore officiating.
Burial will follow at the Hillsboro Cemetery in Hillsboro, IL.
Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer Association.
