June Marie Myers, 92, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025.

She was born on June 29, 1932, in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Ferdinand and Regina (Degenhardt) LaFaver; the eldest of four. June married Donald Myers on July 24, 1970, at Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto. He preceded her in death on November 26, 1994.

June was raised in St. Louis, MO, attended Holy Ghost Parish Grade School, graduated valedictorian and attended LaBoure High School leaving early to help support the family.  She worked for S. S. Kresge's;  W.T. Grant Co; General American Life Insurance Co; McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft Corp. 

She moved to Illinois in 1968 and continued her education at Southern Illinois University earning her master's in education. She taught elementary and high school aged children and moved to adult basic education, GED, and office skills before moving into adult special education, all with the state of Illinois.

She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church since 1970, former member of St. Louis Ski Club, a member of Ladies Auxiliary of the Wood River Moose and the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary #4688, a chorus member of St. Louis Cathedral Follies in her younger years, and long term - one of the first residents of Holiday Shores.

June enjoyed her time with her family and friends and hosting gatherings at the lake along with hobbies that included music, sewing, gardening, cooking and opportunity for travel. 

Survivors include her children, Charlie (Jessica) Myers of Edwardsville, and Tim (Neenah Nash) Myers of Holiday Shores; a grandson, Justin Myers; siblings, Ed LaFaver of St. Louis, MO, and Jim LaFaver of Eureka, MO; as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Along with her parents and husband, Donald, she was preceded in death by her companion, Kenny Kinder; daughter Karen Myers Small; sister Mary Virginia (Ginny) Reddy, brother-in-law John G. (Jack) Reddy; two sisters-in-law, JoAnn LaFaver and Christa LaFaver.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Mass will follow at 10 a.m., at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto, with Father Tom Liebler as celebrant

Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

Memorials are suggested to Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto.
