June Frances Gilbreath, 71, died peacefully at 7:05 a.m., on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at the Willow Rose Rehab & Health Care Center. She was born in Granite City on June 22, 1939, and was the daughter of the late Marion & Wanda (Johnson) Sullivan. June graduated from Granite City High School, and as a young lady worked at the Neslte factory in Granite City, and rode the trolley to work in St. Louis at the Funstons Nut Factory.She married Noah W. Gilbreath in October of 1960, and together they made their home in Granite City, until moving to Jerseyville along with their son in 1977. June then began working in the laundry department at Greenwood Manor Nursing Home in Jerseyville, for 13 years before her retirement. She & Noan shared 26 years together before his death on April 21, 1986.She is survived by her only son, William F. Gilbreath of Jerseyville, and his partner, Jeff Eisaman of St. Louis, Mo.; a sister, Carol Allen of Doniphan, Mo.; two nieces and a nephew.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Scott Allen.Visitation will be from 3 p.m. Sunday until time of funeral services at 5 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.Burial will take place Monday at the Sunset Hills Cemetery in Glen Carbon, where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband.Memorials may be given to the Davida Dialysis Center in Jerseyville.
