June Blankenship, 63, of Brighton, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at her residence under the care of BJC Hospice.
She was born on January 20, 1962, in Alton, IL, the daughter of the late Billy Boyd and the late Virginia (Griffith) Davenport. She married Paul Blankenship in Bethalto, IL, on February 14, 1987. He survives.
June is a former member of Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto & Faith Lutheran Church in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. She was a devoted mother, aunt, sister, and grandmother. She enjoyed reading and listening to books on tape. June loved to spend time with her friends, especially the ones from high school. June also enjoyed to watch sports, mindless rides, puzzles, and taking trips to the Lake of the Ozarks. Most of all, June loved to spend time with her family.
Along with her husband, Paul, she is survived by her children, Zamaneh (Jeremy Johnson) Zamanian, and Amanda Blankenship, a granddaughter, Olivia Johnson; siblings, Steve (Lynn) Davenport, Barb (Jim) Caffrey, and Sue (Ali) Moradi; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2025, from 2 to 5 p.m., at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Services will be at the funeral home on Monday, February 3, 2025, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Willard Meyer officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
