Julie Fortschneider
Georgetown, TX |

Julie Marie (Beck) Fortschneider, age 66, of Georgetown, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2025. Born in Waco, Texas, on March 15, she was the daughter of Donald and Joanne Beck. Julie graduated from Marquette Catholic High School in Alton, Illinois, in 1977. On May 14, 1988, she married Timothy Fortschneider of Godfrey, the love of her life, who survives her. They lived in Lenexa, Kansas for 26 years before moving to Georgetown, Texas in 2014.
Julie is lovingly remembered by her sons: Ben Reeder and his wife Crystal of Boonville, Indiana and Stephan Fortschneider and his wife Neesha of Leander, Texas. She cherished her role as a grandmother to seven grandchildren: James, Adam, Aden, Corbin, and Layla Reeder, as well as Avery and Liam Fortschneider. Julie is also survived by her brother, David (Debbie) Beck; and her sister, Cindy (Chris) Lilley; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, neighbors, and friends who held her dear.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Beck; her in-laws, June and Elden Fortschneider; and her beloved nephew and Godson, Max Lilley.
A funeral mass will be held in her honor on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Alton, Illinois, followed by a celebration of life at the Godfrey Knights of Columbus Hall in Godfrey, Illinois. Arrangements and cremation were handled by Ramsey Funeral Home and Crematorium in Georgetown, Texas.
Julie had a special love for sending cards and photographs to friends and family for birthdays, anniversaries, or simply to brighten their day. Julie always saw the best in everybody (except TRUMP). She loved her Kansas City Chiefs and never missed a game. Go CHIEFS! She loved her many rescued canine friends over the years so much, and they loved her as exhibited by their wagging tails and kisses.
In her memory, contributions may be made to 5A's (Alton Area Animal Aid Association) in Alton, Illinois, or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, organizations that reflect her caring spirit.
Julie will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her legacy of love and kindness and the memory of her warm smile will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
