VICTORIA, TEXAS-  Julia Elizabeth Mundy, 94, formerly of Jerseyville, died at 1:01 a.m., Thursday, November 26, 2015 at the Twin Pines Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Victoria.She was born in Rockbridge on Oct. 8, 1921, and was the last surviving child born to the late Avery Lewis & Artie Bell (Burger) Pitchford.She married Charles Wesley Mundy Sr. on Dec. 31, 1938, and together they made their home and raised their family of five children in the Nutwood area.  The two shared 40 years together before his death on April 30, 1979, after which Julia moved into Jerseyville.  She relocated to Victoria two years ago due to her health and her desire to be near her family.Surviving are a son & daughter in law, Harvey & Linda Mundy of St. Paul, NC; three daughters & sons in law, Nancy & Kenneth Goodman of St. Genevieve, Mo., Shirley & Harold Skaggs of Comanche, Texas, and Lois & Patrick Cazinha of Victoria, Tx.; 12 Grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.In addition to her parents, siblings, and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Charles Wesley Mundy Jr. on Nov. 25, 1964; a grandson, Cameron Lee Skaggs.Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Charity Christian Center in Jerseyville, with Rev. Wilbur Cain officiating.Burial will be alongside her husband at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.Memorials may be given to the Charity Christian Center in Jerseyville.
